Signs Your Ameristar Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

• Soft-close drawers that slam or stick. The hydraulic dampener in the slide carriage has leaked silicone fluid, usually from overloading the drawer beyond its rated weight. • Hinge screws stripping and doors hanging crooked. Ameristar’s original hinge used a #6 × 5/8″ self-tapping screw in particleboard; after three to four adjustments, the hole walls crumble. We re-tap with hardwood dowel inserts and switch to #8 × 1″ screws with full thread engagement.
